Our experienced guides will take you on a culinary adventure through one of Montreal's oldest public markets and the epicenter of Canada's second largest Italian population! On your journey, you'll delight in some of the freshest foods the city has to offer such as toasty breads, hand-carved meats, creamy cheeses, and ripe local produce at the Jean-Talon Market. Then, as you make your way into Little Italy, you'll hear the stories of proud immigrant families who risked everything to travel to the New World and discover how their legacy lives on through handcrafted meals passed down through generations. Nobody leaves hungry on this unmissable trek into the heart of Montreal's incredible food scene.

Food will be served with fresh-pressed apple juice or water when available.

We'll begin in front of the main entrance of Marché Jean-Talon, one of the largest open-air markets in North America.
First up, you'll wet your palate with a bottle of crisp apple juice, cold-pressed at a farm in Quebec's apple capitol Rougemont.
Next, you'll bite into a warm focaccia bread sandwich jam-packed with fresh local ingredients like hand-carved prosciutto and handmade cheese.
As we journey further into the market, get ready for a sensory overload as we visit at our favorite fromagerie and boucherie followed by a tasting of some of the freshest seasonal produce in the city.
Of course no visit to the Jean-Talon Market would be complete without chowing down on a mouthwatering artisanal sausage and indulging in a decadent maple syrup tart.
After which, it's time to head into Petite Italie, Montreal's very own Italian-Canadian neighborhood.
As we explore, you'll hear stories of proud immigrants from Sicily and the Mainland and sample treasured family recipes from Palermo and Rome.

The Jean-Talon Market is one of the oldest public markets in Montreal and one of the largest in North America, covering over 215,000 square feet. Attracting crowds since it opened its doors in the midst of the Great Depression in 1933, it has become a place where generations of both customers and merchants have literally grown up alongside each other. The market offers a variety of fresh local and ethnic foods and serves as an urban mecca celebrating the arrival of seasonal crops such as crisp Rougemont apples, petit Lac-Saint-Jean blueberries, and sweet Saint-Jacques-le-Mineur corn. In other words, it's a foodie's paradise!

Where the tour will end?

I am traveling with my family, is the tour ok for infants/children?

Children are quite welcome and it's free for any child 2 years or under. We can give them drinks other than alcoholic and you are free to enjoy the tour with your entire family of all ages.

I don't drink alcohol. Can I book your tour?

This is not a problem. Just book the alcohol free option before the tour. Just inform our guide before the tour starts.

Is there enough food during your tour?

Think of the tour as a tasting menu. As we travel you get many delicious treats that comprise a meal with dessert. But there is a lot of food, you will not be hungry after the tour.

Where do I add my discount voucher?

I would like to take your tour but it is already fully booked. Is there a way I can do the tour?

Our tours are often sold out very quickly. If the date you requested is not available, please do not hesitate to email us and we can see if there is anything we can do. We cannot promise but we will try our best to sort something out for you.

Is there a lot of walking?

To join our food tour, you must wear comfortable shoes. There will be around 1 hour of walking but it's not too difficult and there are no hills or stairs. If you walk slowly, then our guide will walk slowly as well.

How many people max are on this tour?

We take 12 people maximum. If you are more than 12 people, please do not hesitate to email us and will try to see if we can accommodate.

I cannot find a way to print the confirmation. Is it OK if I have it on my phone?

You do not have to print your voucher. A confirmation on your phone will be fine!

If I purchase a voucher as a gift, or am given a voucher how long is it valid for?

All of our vouchers expire one year from the date of purchase.

Can I choose my own cheese and meat?

Our guide will take care of everything. Should you wish to try something special, please inform our guide and they will do their best to make you happy.

What if it rains or I change my plans?

Unfortunately, the weather is unpredictable here in Montreal. We do not issue refunds as per our terms and conditions. We also inform you that we never cancel a booking even if we have only 2 people! Can I pay the tour in cash?

You must book directly on our website. We do not accept cash payments. Our online payment is safe, secured and SSL protected.

Why do we need to pay for booking fee?

The booking fee that you have to pay is up to our ticket provider and we can't change it. All our clients need to pay for it upon booking. The booking fee charged contributes to the cost of the ticketing system to provide an excellent service to our customers.

Foreign Transaction Fees

A few banks have charged their customer an extra fee while booking with us (this isn't the booking fee but another fee added by the bank). We think this is unfair, if this happens let us know by showing us in your bank statement and we will refund this fee as a gesture of good will.
