On our Secret Food Tour: Paris - Le Marais, you'll enjoy a variety of classic French dishes, starting with a viennoiserie or croissant and freshly baked breads, then enjoying a classic croque-monsieur in the very restaurant where Jim Morrison spent some of his time in Paris. Next, you’ll taste French cheese paired with red and white wine. Visiting the Le Marais district also means seeing the Jewish Quarter of Paris and tasting some fantastic falafels. Then, off to a world of sweetness for some incredible chocolates and colourful macarons, all topped off with another dessert to finish in style.
Our tour starts at the bustling heart of Le Marais near the famous rue de Rivoli, one of the main streets of the city. During the tour, we will walk through the old streets of this district, cross the Place des Vosges, and see some of the oldest medieval houses of Paris. You will also witness how the locals live in this part of Paris and how the city's history and Jewish influence has shaped its gastronomy.
SEE ITINERARY
First, you will taste an authentic French croissant or viennoiserie and learn their respective stories.
Then, we’ll stop at a local bakery to collect some amazing French bread, before stopping at a cheese store to pick up some cheese for later.
Next, we’ll dine on a delicious croque-monsieur in Jim Morrison's favourite restaurant with wines and cheeses.
As we stroll through the streets of Le Marais, you’ll see countless reminders of the nobility’s power during the Renaissance, before arriving in the Jewish district - the backbone of Le Marais - where you will indulge in freshly made falafel.
Then, we’ll go to an amazing macaron and chocolate shop, where quality meets refinement.
And finally we’ll finish our culinary journey with dessert.

You can always tell our guide of any food allergies or special dietary requirements. This tour is very vegetarian friendly and a replacement for the cured meat and croque monsieur will be provided. Please take note that this tour is NOT adapted for Vegans
I am traveling with my family, is the tour ok for infants/children?
Children are more than welcome on our tour and it's free for any child 2 years or under! We have had many families attend from all over the world and everyone enjoyed the tour.
I don't drink alcohol. Can I book your tour?
This is not a problem. Just inform our guide before the tour starts. During the tasting you can select another beverage you like.
Is there enough food during your tour?
We give enough food to all our customers. Trust us, you will not need to go to any restaurant after the Food tour!
Where do I add my discount voucher?
I would like to take your tour but it is already fully booked. Is there a way I can do the tour?
Our tours are often sold out very quickly. If the date you requested is not available, please do not hesitate to email us and we can see if there is anything we can do.
Is there a lot of walking?
There will be around 1 hour and half walking but it is not too difficult.
How many people max are on this tour?
We take 8 people maximum. If you are more than 10 people, please do not hesitate to email us and we will try to see if we can accommodate.
I cannot find a way to print the confirmation. Is it OK if I have it on my phone?
You do not have to print your voucher. A confirmation on your phone will be fine!
If I purchase a voucher as a gift, or am given a voucher how long is it valid for?
All of our vouchers expire one year from the date of purchase.
Can I choose my own cheese?
No, our guide will take care of everything.
Where does your food come from?
We work with small shops and local artisan hand picked for the quality of their products and services.
What if it rains or I change my plans?
Unfortunately, the weather is unpredictable in Paris. We do not issue refunds as per our terms and conditions. We also inform you that we go through with the tour with 4 people minimum! However we do reserve the right to cancel the tour if we feel the weather is extreme, and we cannot run the tour due to this for more info see our Terms and Conditions.
Can I pay the tour in cash?
You must book directly on our website. We do not accept cash payments. Our online payment is safe, secured and SSL protected.
Why do we need to pay for a booking fee?
The booking fee that you have to pay is up to our ticket provider and we can't change it. All our clients need to pay for it upon booking. The booking fee charged contributes to the cost of the ticketing system to provide an excellent service to our customers.
Foreign Transaction Fees
A few banks have charged their customer an extra fee while booking with us (this isn't the booking fee but another fee added by the bank). We think this is unfair, if this happens let us know by showing us in your bank statement and we will refund this fee as a gesture of good will.
Last minute upgrade?
Should you want to enjoy the tour upgrade even at the last minute please inform your tour guide to follow the booking procedure and benefit from the extras.
I am travelling with my family, is the tour ok for infants/children?
Children are more than welcome to our tour. We have had many families attend from all over the world and everyone has enjoyed the tour. However, please be informed that any accompanying underage children must be carried, as the area is not suitable for strollers. You will have to carry and keep your baby on your lap as well when seated to enjoy our picnic at the end of the tour.

Is the tour suitable for pregnant women?
Pregnancy can be accomodated, you will be given a quiche/tart option instead of the meat and two cheese are pasteurized, soft drinks and water will replace the alcohol.

This tour is accessible to people in wheelchairs if those can be folded and some standing is possible for short periods.
